Foliage Outdoors - Volunteers Training Programme (VTP) 2010

Experience of conducting Wildlife Camps, Treks, Kids Camps for last 10 years has taught us one thing It is the TEAM that makes the difference! In our constant endeavor of making Foliage Outdoors camps better, we are happy to announce Volunteers Training Programme 2010. This programme is aimed at developing better TEAM of Volunteers and Instructors out of enthusiastic Foliagers!

Course Structure:

• 20 indoor sessions that will cover topics mentioned below.
• 4 one day field trips for better learning on-field.
• Practical, hand-on experience of conducting excursions.

Add-ons:

• Projects.
• Overnight  training camp (To be announced and not included in the cost mentioned below).

• Conducting Nature trails (Birding, Tracking in forests)
• Basics of trekking, Rappelling, Knots and safety procedures
• First Aid
• Personality development and Leadership Abilities.
• Presentation skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Group dynamics, Teamwork
• Administration of outdoor programme.
• Group games.
• Forest Types and Climatic Zones.
• Ecosystems  and Environmental issues
• Identifying commonly observed plants.
• Basic Classification of Animals.
• Insects, Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds and Mammals.
• Geology, Geography and Astronomy (Stargazing).

VTP fees:

Special concessional fees Rs.8000/- (inclusive of everything mentioned under Course Structure and Topics)

These fees are applicable to :

1.       students between 15  22 years of age.

2.       those who have completed the Basic Course in Mountaineering.

3.       those who have completed the Basic Course in Ornithology conducted by Ela Foundation.

4.       those who have completed the Basic Course in Filed Botany conducted by Nisargasevak and ARI.

5.       those who have completed the Post Graduate Diploma Course in Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development and Ecological Restoration conducted by Ecological Society, Pune.

Regular fees : Rs.10000/- (inclusive of everything mentioned under Course Structure and Topics)

Venue and duration:

Course will be conducted at Foliage Outdoors office.

Duration : July to October (Classroom sessions). Projects and assignments will follow till Feb 2011.

Time: Indoor sessions , 8.30am to 12 noon on every Sunday.

Ourdoor  sessions on Sundays.
