The Himalayan paradise of Kumaon contains some of the most stunning mountain scenery that we know of anywhere, from the perennially snow capped peaks of the Great Himalaya range to the famed "Tals" around Nainital. This ecotour offers the opprtunity to enjoy both this facets, the walks in the lap oh Himalayas with the stunning backdrop of Himalayan views and water activities at Sattal. 

This is a trek designed for beginners and travelers who have no prior experience of trekking. Even children, as less as of 9 years, could be a party to this wonderful holiday. An action-packed yet relaxed holiday option beckons. Are you game?

What is included in the tour

  • Transport : Delhi - Nainital - Delhi by AC Vehicle and Nainital to Nainital by chartered non-AC vehicle
  • Accommodation at Ranikhet in resort on twin sharing basis for 1 night. 
  • Accommodation at Chaukori (Jhaltola) in resort on twin sharing basis for 3 nights.
  • Accommodation at Sattal in Tented camp on twin sharing basis for 1 night.
  • All meal charges - from Nainital to Nainital.
  • Services of a Camp leader from Foliage Outdoors.

What is NOT included in the tour

  • Flight / Train arrangement upto New Delhi. 
  • Bottled Mineral water / cold drinks / any other beverages purchased during journey or at the Destination.
  • Boating and ropeway charges at Nainital. 
  • Personal expenditure of any kind (personal porterage, telephone, laundry, room service etc.).
  • Medical Expenses if incurred.
  • Expenses that are incurred due to reasons beyond control of the organizers.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Delhi - Nainital | 288 kms / 8-9 hours
Reach Delhi. Travel overnight to Nainital.

Day 2 : Nainital - Ranikhet | 56 kms / 2 hours drive
Reach Nainital. Proceed to Ranikhet. 
Post lunch, indulge in soft adventure activities (rope activities) like sky ladder, burma bridge, commando net, zip line etc. 
Overnight at Ranikhet.

Day 3 : Ranikhet - Jhaltola (Chaukori) | 138 kms / drive of 6 hours 
Post breakfast, check out from Ranikhet. 
See Kumaon Regiment Museum and Jhoola Devi Temple also called as The Temple of Bells. The villagers believe that the Goddess fulfills the wishes upon which they offer the bells to her as thanks. 
Proceed to Jhaltola (Chaukori). 
Reach by evening. 
Overnight at Jhaltola. 

Day 4 : Jhaltola 
Morning trek to Lamkeshwar with a very moderate climb which can safely categorized as easy trek / walk.  An old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva sits atop a mountain which is a 2 km uphill climb from the retreat. It also offers fabulous 360 degree views from the Vantage Point. Spend as much time as we want at the most incredible location. Return for lunch. 
A one hour trek to the Sunset Point. 
Overnight at Jhaltola. 

Day 5 : Jhaltola - Patal Bhuvaneshwar - Jhaltola 
Patal Bhuvaneshwar is one of most important shrines of Lord Shiva, in the region. These are underground limestone caves and revered as temple. 
Limestone rock formations have created various spectacular stalactite and stalagmite figures of various hues and forms. The commentary by the guide is most interesting as the forms are interpreted with mythology in the narration.
Overnight at Jhaltola. 

Day 6 : Jhaltola - Sattal / 158 kms / 6 hours
Post breakfast, leave for Sattal. Rest of the day at leisure. 
Last night of the ecotour and we will enjoy the bonfire session.
Overnight at Sattal.

Day 7 : Sattal - Nainital - New Delhi | 288 kms / 8-9 hours
A small walk and kayaking / swimming in Sattal will be the agenda in the morning session. Post lunch, proceed to Nainital. Optional activities for you would included stroll in the market, boating, shopping or visit the zoo. 
Proceed post dinner to New Delhi. 

Day 8 : New Delhi
Tour ends here and time to say goodbye to your fellow campers till we meet again to share the images and memories of your time spent in Kumaon Himalayas.
