Bharatpur: 
Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, now known as the Keoladeo Ghana National Park is a famous avifauna sanctuary that sees thousands of rare and highly endangered birds during the winter season. Over 300 species of birds are known to have made the National Park their home. It is a World Heritage Site. The park is a freshwater swamp and is flooded during the monsoon. The park's location in the Gangetic Plain makes it an unrivalled breeding site for Herons, Storks and Cormorants, and an important wintering ground for large numbers of migrant ducks. The most common waterfowl are Gadwall, Shoveler, Common Teal, Cotton Teal, Tufted Duck, Comb Duck, Little Cormorant, Great Cormorant, Indian shag, Ruff, Painted stork, Eurasian spoonbill, Asian open-billed Stork, Oriental Ibis, Darter, Common Sandpiper, Wood Sandpiper and Green sandpiper. The majestic Sarus crane, with its spectacular courtship dance, is also seen here. 

Chambal: The beautiful Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary is surrounded by the Chambal river, is known to be one of the cleanest rivers of India. It provides you a combination of a unique and unpolluted habitat, abundant wildlife and amazing landscapes. The river is host to an amazing riverine faunal assemblage that includes 2 species of crocodilians – the Mugger and Gharial, 8 species of freshwater Turtles, Gangetic River Dolphins, Indian Skimmers, Black-bellied Terns, Sarus cranes and Black-necked Storks, amongst others. The river safari on the Chambal river is a unique experience with its dramatic landscapes offering a up close and personal encounter of the amazing abundance of wildlife. It an attempt to introduce people to a land that is still unexplored and has retained its unique landscapes, rustic charm and rare wildlife.

    Itinerary

    Day 1: Delhi to Bharatpur
    Assemble at the railway station at Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi by 1130 hours. Depart for Bharatpur at 1245 hours by train. Reach Bharatpur for Hi-Tea with birding en route. Check-in and freshen-up followed by birding in and around the lodge in the evening if time permits. Overnight stay at Bharatpur.

    Day 2: Morning and Evening Birding Sessions at Bharatpur
    Today we will have 2 birding sessions inside the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. We will cover various areas inside the park on foot and try our luck to see various avian beauties. We stand a chance to see different species of ducks, storks, eagles, flycatchers, cormorants etc. We will try to search for some of the rare bird species like the Dusky Eagle Owl, Black-necked stork, Grey Nightjar, Mallard, Sarus Cranes, etc. We may even stand a chance to see mammals like Spotted Deer and Jackal. We return to the resort after sunset. Overnight stay at Bharatpur.

    Day 3: Half-day visit to Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary and Evening Birding Session at Bharatpur
    Post breakfast we leave for Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary.The area lies within the semi-arid zone of north-western India at the border of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh States and the vegetation consists of ravine and thorn forest. Within the sanctuary, the pristine Chambal River cuts through mazes of ravines and hills with many sandy beaches. This is a perfect destination for wildlife enthusiasts. The Chambal River Safari is the highlight of the sanctuary. The river safari is almost 2 hours long and is the best way to enjoy the view of the rare and endangered species. It is a habitat of some of the most endangered species, but the main attraction here is - Gharial, Red-crowned turtles, Gangetic Dolphins and Indian skimmers, among others. Return to Bharatpur in the afternoon. We spend the second half of the day, birding at Bharatpur. We will also visit the ancient Keoladeo Temple and return to our resort around sunset. Evening will be spent discussing facts about the winged wonders seen during these birding sessions. Overnight stay at Bharatpur.

    Day 4: Bharatpur to Delhi
    Post breakfast, leave for Bharatpur Station. Board train for Delhi at 0925 hours. Reach Delhi by 1230 hours. Tour concludes with abundant memories of feathered friends and a ‘group selfie’!!!
