About Offbeat Kumaon (Uttarakhand) Tour :
March is a great time to be in the Himalayas. The probability of clear cloudless skies with clear and crisp views of Himalayan ranges makes it a delightful experience.
The Himalayan paradise of Kumaon contains some of the most stunning mountain scenery that we know of anywhere, from the perennially snow-capped peaks of the Great Himalayan range in the north to the stunning wilderness of Corbett National Park. This tour will let you enjoy one of the best National Parks of India with destinations from where you can witness the 300 kms of Himalayan Panorama.
We have shortlisted three of the best locations with astounding Himalayan experience. We will take you for walks in the jungle of Corbett National Park (buffer area), The short and long walks in the pleasant spring weather at Jhaltola (near Chaukori) will be highly rewarding. An evening and a morning at Sattal (one of the famed "Taals" of Kumaon region will ve memorable.
An Offbeat Destination in Kumaon, Jhaltola (near Chaukori) has a unique location and stunning 300 kms of Himalayan views. A 1,000 acre estate, it is surrounded by thousands of acres of untouched forests and the nearest neighbour is a kilometer away. The peaks of Hathi Parvat, Gauri Parbat, Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, Nanda Devi East and West, Nanda Khat, Nanda Kot and more ranges of Nepal are seen from here.

Day 1 : Drive from Delhi to Ramnagar at 1000 hrs. Drive time - approx 7 hrs. Overnight at Ramnagar
Day 2 : Gypsy Safari in Corbett National Park. Transfer to Marchula (drive of 1 hour). Evening walk in the jungle.
How can we miss a safari into the eco-rich jungle of Corbett National Park if we are exploring Kumaon region?! Embark on a jeep safari via Dhangarhi gate into the heart of this exhilarating Tiger Reserve.
We then drive to Marchula and check into a Resort that is as exclusive as it can get! Walk for 30 minutes (you need not carry your bags) and then cross the river on a bamboo raft to reach the Resort!
Most of the Tiger Reserves in India do allow walks inside. However, we will have the unique opportunity to explore the jungle on the foot in the rich buffer zone, indeed a great opportunity for birders, photographers and nature lovers alike.
Overnight at Marchula.
Day 3 : Morning walk in the jungle. Checkout and proceed to Chaukori (drive of seven hours)
Post beakfast. Travel to Jhaltola (Chaukori), with lunch en route. (Approx 7 hours). Day at leisure. We will see the most beautiful Himalayan Sunset this evening.
Overnight at Jhaltola.
Day 4 : Explore Jhaltola
Post breakfast, a short walk to see the Kumaoni Village as it goes along following its daily chores. Enjoy the scenes of happy children running and playing freely on green hills. See smiling faces of ever-inviting Villagers. The walk ends with a visit to a small temple in the Village. Lunch at the resort.
Evening, we set out for easy sunset walk. We will be blessed with the second of our many beautiful Himalayan Sunsets of the Tour.
Overnight at Jhaltola.
Day 5: Lamkeshwar Trek | Patal Bhuvaneshwar Caves | Overnight at Jhaltola
We will go for an easy hike to Lamkeshwar (1 hour - one way) this morning. The hike begins from the Resort itself and offers still better views than those that are available from the Resort.
Post lunch, half-day excursion to explore the Caves at Patal Bhuvaneshwar (1 hour), a temple complex of interesting limestone formations. We will be blessed with the third of the many beautiful Himalayan Sunsets of the Tour.
Overnight at Jhaltolaand unhindered Himalayan views of Hathi Parwat, Gauri Parwat, Nanda Ghunti, Trishul, Nanda Devi East and West, Nanda Khat, Nanda Kot and more ranges of Nepal.
Overnight at Jhaltola.
Day 6 : Drive to Sattal, drive of 6 hrs. An evening by the Taal.
Located at 5000 ft. among the Pine and Oak tree forests of Uttarakhand is the Sattal. Treat yourself to a very comfortable stay at the resort overlooking the calm waters of the Sattal.
With a visit to one of the famed taals of the Kumaon region, we complete the trio of experiences viz the jungle, the mountain and the taal!
Day 7 : Drive to New Delhi (drive of 7 hours). Late evening flight.
We will travel to New Delhi for an evening flight back home.
An extension for those wanting to explore Nainital / Delhi / Agra etc may continue their tour (we will be happy to help you plan this tour as well).
What is included in the tour
