Brief description :  A campsite which overlooks a valley with a dam on one side and views of basaltic base of a virgin tabletop on the other side. Perched at an altitude of 3,500 MSL, this heaven is always cool and windy. Just 14 kms away from Panchgani town, it is cut off from the touristy chaos of Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. The moist evergreen forests of the Sahyadris gently give way to Deccan Grasslands. The endemic flora and fauna here are naturalist’s delight.   About Space Programme.  Designed around skill building, shared goals and values with a principle of a participants curiosity about the cosmos and space. The lodge includes an excellent 35 acre natural forest with extensive teak trails, Flame of the forest trees and an occasional silver oak thus making it a trekkers, bird watchers paradise. Andharban Forest Trek Andharban, hosts a long-rooted stretch of evergreen forest. The forest is so dense, that the sun rays indented upon it, find it very difficult to make it to the forest floor. Spectacular views of Kundalika Gorge, Tel Baila Fort and Bhira reservoir vibe its grace to all trekkers onboard . Colourful Wild flowers add to the beauty of its verdant landscape. The trek descends down, into the Konkan region to reach Bhira. It’s a simple but a long trek, that can be enjoyed by inexperienced trekkers as well. The hike is (2,030) ft above sea level. Sudhagad is a popular trekking destination as it is one of the better preserved forts in Maharashtra. On the slopes of the fort there are trees of Pandhri which are used to make a popular walking stick. Beautiful other forts like Sarasgad, Korigad, Ghangad, Taila-Baila are clearly visible. It was a large fort and Sudhagad was considered by Shivaji as the capital of his kingdom. He surveyed it, but instead chose Raigad because of its central location. read more read less
