Recommended for  All Age Groups Come join us on an exciting journey of exploring and learning! This "I Explore" program is open to people of all ages. This three-day program, organized by Foliage Outdoors, invites everyone to discover habitats around Pune. With the guidance of our knowledgeable Naturalist, you'll explore various landscapes such as Wetlands, an Evergreen Forest, and Grasslands around Pune. You'll have the opportunity to observe and experience these environments up close, discovering animals, birds, butterflies, insects, plants, trees, and more. Throughout the program, you'll embark on three unique one-day outings to different locations near Pune. These outings will take place on three consecutive Sundays. Discover the hidden gem of Raireshwar, a sprawling plateau nestled in the Sahyadri Ranges, spanning 7-8 km. Raireshwar boasts two distinct attractions: the mystical Shiva Temple, believed to be where Shivaji Maharaj pledged for "Swarajya", and a breathtaking monsoon bloom of vibrant flowers. The trek to Raireshwar is an easy one, and the views from the top are breathtaking. The plateau is home to a Shiva temple, where it is believed that Shivaji Maharaj took an oath of swarajya. The temple is surrounded by beautiful flowers, which bloom throughout the monsoon season. From the top of the plateau, you can see the forts of Rajgad, Torna, Rohida, Kenjalgad, Kamalgad, and many others. You can also see the river basins of Neera and Walki. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaas Plateau is also called as Maharashtra's Valley of Flowers! An ideal place to view some rare species of flowers and plants that are endemic to the Western Ghats. The Kaas Plateau, popularly referred to as the "Plateau of Flowers," is a well-known tourist destination in Maharashtra and a well-liked picnic location in the late monsoon season. The plateau is around 1,000 hectares in size and is located at an elevation of 1200 m. The Kaasa tree is where the name "Kaas" comes from. More than 850 distinct blooming plant species can be found in Kaas, 624 of which are on the IUCN Red List. These include carnivorous plants like Drosera Indica, shrubs like the Karvy, and orchids. The Koyna Dam's catchment region is the Kaas Plateau, which provides a view of the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary's extensive evergreen forests.  It is an absolute Floral Treat! Rehekuri Sanctuary, located in Karjat Taluka of Ahmednagar District, is a wildlife spot famous for the” blackbuck”, one of the Antelope Species seen in India. With its distinct spiral horns and striking contrasting black-white coat, the male blackbuck is instantly recognizable in the dry landscape of the sanctuary. The sanctuary is a dry scrubland that also is a home for other interesting mammals like the Indian Wolf, Indian Fox, Indian Jackal, and Chinkara. The sanctuary also hosts a wide variety of open country birds like Indian Roller, Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse, and Desert Wheatear.
