Day 1: Bangalore – Shravanabelagola – Halebid – Chikmagalur (6 hrs / 325 km)
Arrive at Bangalore and drive towards Chikmagalur. En route:
Shravanabelagola – climb Vindhyagiri Hill to see the 57-ft Gomateshwara Bahubali statue, one of the tallest monolithic statues in the world and an important Jain pilgrimage site.
Halebid’s Hoysaleswara Temple – marvel at 12th-century Hoysala architecture and intricate stone carvings.
By evening, reach Balur Estate, a colonial heritage bungalow in Chikmagalur’s coffee country. Check into spacious rooms surrounded by coffee, pepper, and cardamom plantations.
Overnight in Chikmagalur.
Day 2: Tea Estate Walk – Sunset at Hemavathi Origin
Post breakfast, tour a Chikmagalur tea factory and enjoy a scenic walk through sprawling tea plantations, ending at a hilltop with panoramic views. Return to Balur Estate for lunch.
In the evening, enjoy a sunset walk to the origin of the River Hemavathi, just above the estate. Stop at a quiet temple and soak in serene mountain views.

Day 3: Bidruthala Trek – Plantation Leisure
Start the day with a trek through shola grasslands and forest ridges, with endless green hills stretching in every direction. Enjoy a packed breakfast under a giant boulder, the perfect mountain picnic.
Return to the bungalow for lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing, chatting with hosts Ratnamma and Hamsa, or simply unplugging from Wi-Fi to enjoy slow plantation life. Evenings are best around the bonfire with freshly brewed estate coffee and traditional Malnad delicacies.

Day 4: Chikmagalur – Bangalore (6 hrs / 300 km)
After breakfast, check out from Balur Estate and drive back to Bangalore with lunch en route. The trip concludes on arrival.
