Overview

A cradle shaped hanging valley at an altitude of 11,667 ft. in the Garhwal Himalayas - Har Ki Dun, is surrounded by snow capped peaks and alpine vegetation. The valley which is steeped in mythology is also known as the “Valley of Gods”. The Pandavas strode through this valley on their way to ascend to heaven via the towering Swargarohini peaks.

Har Ki Dun is blessed with a natural beauty that offers some stunning and panoramic views of the snow clad mountain peaks. The less explored and sparsely populated region is a paradise for trekkers and nature lovers alike and boasts of some amazing flora and fauna. Har Ki Dun has been attracting trekkers from every corner of the world.

Har Ki Dun with visit  to Hata valley is a complete trek, if anyone is keen on doing something more than just the trek. It will offer you different shades of mountain landscapes and a glimpse of a unique culture which is sure to impress even veteran trekkers.

    Itinerary

    Day 1: Arrival at Delhi | Overnight Travel to Dehradun
    Assemble in Delhi (Railway Station / Volvo Point) at 9 PM.
    Overnight travel by Train / Volvo to Dehradun.
    Meals: None

    Day 2: Dehradun - Sankri | Overnight at Sankri
    Travel Distance / Time: 210 Kms / 8-9 Hrs 
    We will board our chartered vehicle and be driven up to Sankri.
    Most of our journey will be along the Yamuna and Tons river through beautiful Pine forests. Lunch en route. Reach Sankri and check in into the hotel. Time permitting village walk or last minute shopping at Sankri. A briefing about the trek over dinner.

    Day 3: Sankri - Taluka | Trek to Gangar | Overnight at Gangar
    Trek Distance / Time: 11 Kms / 5-6 Hrs
    Post breakfast, we board our vehicles for a short and adventurous drive of 45 mins. which will take us to the start point of our trek - Taluka village. Today, our hike will be through the beautiful forest along the Supin river. The gradient is moderate.

    Day 4: Trek from Gangar to Kalkatti Dhar | Overnight at Kalkatti Dhar
    Trek Distance / Time: 09 Kms / 5-6 Hrs
    We continue along the Supin River, cross Osla Village and stay at Kalkatti Dhar. Osla village has a unique culture and is known for the wooden Someshwar Temple which has an elaborate chattri on top. Duryodhana is revered in this village, perhaps the only place in the world. Say bye to the curious children as you go ahead and find your tents at a picturesque location of Kalkatti Dhar.

    Day 5: Trek from Kalkatti Dhar to Har Ki Dun | Overnight at Har Ki Dun
    Trek Distance / Time: 07 Kms / 3-4 Hrs
    Post an early breakfast, we start towards Har Ki Dun, the valley of gods. Today we get ample opportunities to explore the forest and its bird life. Our hike through the forest and meadows keeps us amazed with fabulous views of Bandarpoonch and Swargarohini peaks while waterfalls and streams keep us company. Reach Har Ki Dun by late afternoon.

    Day 6: Trek from Har Ki Dun to Hata Valley and Return | Overnight at Har Ki Dun
    Trek Distance/Time: 12 Kms / 5-6 Hrs (Both Ways)
    Wake up to the chirping of birds and the majestic views of the Himalayas. We will explore Murinda lake in the first half of the day with an opportunity to be "In the snow". We are amidst the towering mountain ranges of Kalanag, Bandarpoonch, Ruinsara peaks and the majestic Swargarohini. For those with an appetite for more, we explore the very beautiful Hata Valley in the evening.

    Day 7: Trek from Har Ki Dun to Osla | Overnight at Osla
    Trek Distance / Time: 12 Kms / 6-7 Hrs 
    Post breakfast, we retrace our steps to Osla village. Reach Osla by lunch. Evening will be spent exploring the ancient temples and learning about the local culture of Osla village.

    Day 8: Trek from Osla to Taluka | Taluka - Sankri | Overnight at Sankri
    Trek Distance / Time: 15 Kms / 5-6 Hrs 
    Post an early breakfast, trek back to Taluka village. Here we board our vehicle to drive back to Sankri. Packed lunch en route. Reach Sankri by late afternoon, freshen up and rest. Evening will be spent at leisure in a hotel.
    Overnight at Sankri (Hotel / Guest House).
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Tea & Dinner

    Day 9: Sankri - Dehradun | Overnight travel to Delhi
    Travel Distance / Time: 210 Kms / 8-9 Hrs
    Post breakfast, leave for Dehradun. Lunch enroute. Reach Dehradun by evening.
    Travel overnight to Delhi.
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Tea & Dinner

    Day 10: Arrival in Delhi | Tour ends
    Reach Delhi (Railway Station / Volvo Point) in the morning. (Post noon flights are suggested)
    Tour ends here and time to say goodbye to your fellow campers till we meet again to share the images and memories of your time spent in Garhwal Himalayas.
