Description :

Popularly known as LRK, this unique ecosystem is extremely important as it supports the very unique wildlife of this region. Spread across nearly 5,000 square kilometers, LRK is the only place on this planet where the Indian Wild Ass (Equus hemionus khur) still lives.

Visit to the offbeat mudflat desert region of the Little Rann of Kutch (LRK), provides a great opportunity to see herds of Indian Wild Ass. Rann of Kutch is also known for the richness of its avifauna. During winters one can witness large congregations of waterfowl in the mudflats at Kutch and the sight of thousands of Pelicans, Cranes and Flamingos is simply unforgettable. LRK is also a place where one can see salt pans.

Apart from the birds, LRK is also home to different species of mammals - Desert and Indian Fox, Jackal, Nilgai and Wolf are to name a few.
