The Pench Tiger Reserve is home to two of the most magnificent felines of the forest – the Tiger and the Leopard. What Participants Will Learn
- How to “read the forest” – Interpreting sounds, alarm calls, tracks, droppings and other signs left by animals.
- Basics of wildlife behaviour and ecology – Understanding how predators, herbivores and other species interact in the Pench ecosystem.
- Big cat ecology – Insights into the life of Tigers and Leopards: territories, hunting behaviour, and their role in the food chain.
- Forest types and habitats – Recognising different landscapes within Pench (teak forests, grasslands, water bodies) and the species they support.
- Ethics of wildlife watching – How to behave responsibly in the jungle: keeping safe distances, staying quiet, and respecting wildlife and park rules.
- Observation and patience – Developing sharp observation skills, patience and attention to detail during safaris and sessions.
- Conservation awareness – Why forests like Pench are important, threats they face, and how individuals can contribute to protecting wildlife and habitats.
Day 1: Pune – Nagpur by Train
Report at Pune Railway Station and depart for Nagpur by train at 22:00 hours. Overnight train journey.

Day 2: Nagpur – Pench: Arrival & Camp Orientation
Have breakfast on the train and reach Nagpur by around 13:00 hours. Proceed to Pench by AC vehicle, enjoying lunch en route. Arrive at Pench by late afternoon and check in to the resort.
After a short rest, participants gather for an introduction session to get to know each other, followed by a wildlife orientation about Pench Tiger Reserve. Camp leaders will also explain essential dos and don’ts, safety guidelines, and what to expect on the safaris. Enjoy evening tea and snacks, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the resort. Day 3: Morning Safari & Evening Safari at Pench
Explore different parts of Pench on a morning safari. Participants get to apply what they’ve learned in real time – observing animal behaviour, listening to jungle sounds and spotting birds and mammals. Return to the resort for lunch and some pool/relaxation time.
Later, head out for the evening safari in another zone of the park. After returning, take part in a group discussion to review the day’s sightings, share observations and reinforce key learnings. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

Day 4: Morning Safari & Return to Nagpur
Early morning wake-up call followed by the final safari in Pench – one more chance to look for tigers and other wildlife and to say goodbye to the forest. Return to the resort for lunch.
After lunch, begin the journey back to Nagpur by AC vehicle. On arrival, board the train to Pune at 19:40 hours. Dinner is served on the train.

Day 5: Arrival at Pune
Have breakfast on the train and reach Pune by around 11:25 hours, concluding the camp.
