Young Rangers Program at Goa
Recommended for Age Group 10 - 16 years.
Most people associate Goa with beaches, but there lies an unexplored sphere of biodiversity at the heart of Goa as well. The Western Ghats are home to a variety of birds and animals conserved in many Goan sanctuaries. The pockets of greenery, interspersed with elements of local culture make Goa a fascinating place to visit for your introduction to nature.
With divergent habitats, varying altitudes, and variety in the type of soil, Goa is home to a diversity of forests, from mangrove trees crowding muddy river banks, to open scrub jungle and sub-tropical hill forests. Among this magnificent flora, a plethora of different species of wildlife can be found, including Indian Gaur, Indian Giant Squirrels, Slender Loris, Leopards, and Sloth Bears. Plus, with over 400 species of birdlife to find, there’s certainly something for every wildlife lover in Goa. From the incredibly elusive Frogmouths to the rather colourful Kingfishers, there’s a lot to be discovered in Goa in the way of birdlife, so be sure to pack your binoculars and camera equipment to observe and get some great shots of these wonderful birds.
Our new Young Rangers Program focuses on combining experimental learning with fun, as we encourage students to explore, learn, and conserve. Come, explore a whole new Goa with us this summer!
