Overview

Nagaland is a spectacular, culturally rich state in Northeast India, famed for its 18 distinct indigenous tribes, pristine landscapes, and vibrant celebrations known as the “Land of Festivals” Kaziranga National Park is situated in the floodplains of the river Brahmaputra and is known for its three big mammals, Indian Rhinoceros, Wild Water Buffalo and Asian Elephant. Other speciality mammals of Kaziranga are Swamp Deer and Hoolock Gibbon. During our stay we will be visiting various ranges of the park, so that different habitats in the park – grasslands, marshes, jheels and forests are well covered. Meghalaya, the "Abode of Clouds," is celebrated for its lush landscapes, living root bridges, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant indigenous culture. The best time to visit is from November to March for clear skies.

Itinerary

Day 1: Assemble at Dimapur and Proceed to Kohima 
Dimapur (480 Ft / 145 Mts, 10 Kms / 30 minutes’ to 01 Hrs drive approx)
Meet and greet upon arrival at Dimapur Airport (DMU) by our Trip Leader at 1400 hrs, followed by a transfer to the hotel. Lunch en-route.Dinner and Overnight at  Dimapur.

Day 2: Dimapur – Kisama Heritage (Hornbill Festival) – Dimapur
(5317 Ft / 1621 Mts,  25 Kms / 01 to 1 ½ Hrs drive approx)
After breakfast, drive towards Kohima. You will be taken to the festival in Kisama Heritage Village where you will spend the rest of the day witnessing folk songs, dances, and locals wearing colourful traditional attire. You can also visit shops and pick up souvenirs as a memento. Lunch at the festival where you can taste some local cuisine of Nagaland. You will also be taken to visit Phesama village. Later, drive back to Dimapur. Dinner and Overnight at Dimapur.

Day 3: Dimapur – Kaziranga

After breakfast, check out and drive to Kaziranga. Reach Kaziranga and check into the hotel. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at a resort near Kaziranga.

Day 4: Explore Kaziranga National Park

Morning & jeep safaris in Kaziranga. All meals and overnight stay at a resort near Kaziranga.

Day 6: Kaziranga- Shillong
Shillong (5002 Ft / 1525 Mts, 280 Kms / 07 to 08 Hrs drive approx approx)
After early breakfast check out and proceed to Shillong at 7AM. Enroute visit Umium Lake (also known as Barapani Lake), a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. Shillong is also known as ‘The Scotland of the East’. It is the capital city of Meghalaya. Visit the Don Bosco Museum. Overnight Stay at Shillong.

Day 7: Shillong-Cherrapunjee Excursion 
Cherrapunjee (4690Ft / 1430 Mts, 60 Kms / 02 to 03 Hrs drive approx. oneway)
After early breakfast and checkout from the hotel, go for a day excursion to Cherrapunjee – the wettest place on the earth. At Cherrapunjee, visit Arwah Cave / Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Waterfalls. Later transfer to Pynursla. Overnight stay near Mawlynnong.

Day 8: Pynursla – Shillong 
Mawlynnong (4906 Ft / 1496 Mts, 30 Kms / 01 Hrs drive approx oneway)
After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Mawlynnong. Today you can explore Mawlynnong - The Cleanest Village in Asia. Also visit the spectacular Single living Root Bridge (15 mins gradual walk downwards / 20 mins gradual walk upwards). Post- lunch transfer to Shillong. Dinner and overnight stay in a boutique hotel near Shillong.

Day 9: Shillong - Guwahati Airport (GAU) 
Morning at leisure. Breakfast at the hotel. Later, transfer to Guwahati Airport (GAU) by 1600 HRS for onwards connection.
