What Participants Will Learn
Core Trekking Skills & Mountain Safety
How to walk on Himalayan mountain trails during the Deoriatal, Tungnath and Chandrashila treks (ascents, descents, pacing, taking regular breaks).
Basics of altitude awareness around 8,000–13,000 ft, understanding changing mountain weather and strictly following trek leaders’ safety instructions.
Camping & Outdoor Skills
Tent living at Rishikesh, Chopta and Kaudiyala: organising personal gear, keeping tents neat and shared spaces clean.
Camp hygiene, responsible use of water and simple “leave no trace” practices to protect the Himalayan environment.
River & Rafting Safety
Basics of white‑water rafting on the Ganges: listening to raft commands, paddling as a team and staying calm on the water.
Correct use of life jackets, helmets and other safety gear; understanding safe behaviour near a mountain river (no unsupervised entry, respecting river currents).
Fitness, Endurance & Mental Resilience
Importance of warm‑up, stretching, hydration and proper nutrition on trekking and travel days.
Building stamina on the Deoriatal and Tungnath–Chandrashila treks, learning to handle fatigue, steep sections and long days while staying positive.
Teamwork, Communication & Leadership
Working in small groups during treks, bus journeys, campsite routines and games.
Taking turns in simple leadership roles (pace‑setter on the trail, timekeeper, tent and cleanliness in‑charge) and practising clear, respectful communication with peers and leaders.
Environment & Culture
Understanding the fragile Himalayan ecosystem in the Chopta–Deoriatal region: forests, meadows, high‑altitude lakes and birds like the Himalayan Monal.
Exposure to the cultural and spiritual importance of the Ganga, the river confluences (Devprayag, Rudraprayag) and Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world.
Independence & Confidence Away from Home
Managing daily routines independently: packing day bags, keeping track of jackets, caps and water bottles, and following schedules without constant reminders.
Gaining confidence by travelling with a group (flights, long road journeys, treks and rafting) and successfully completing a multi‑day Himalayan adventure.
